Katie Kindilien and Lenny Moskowitz at Gallery 195

March 16 to June 12, 2011

The Arts Council of Greater New Haven presents an exhibition of works by Connecticut artists Katie Kindilien and Lenny Moskowitz at Gallery 195 at NewAlliance Bank, 195 Church St., 4th floor, New Haven. The exhibition will be on display during bank hours from March 16 through June 12, 2011. An artists’ reception is scheduled for Tuesday, March 29, from 5 to 7pm. The public is invited to attend.

The exhibit will feature oil and gouache paintings by Katie Kindilien and acrylic and ink paintings by Lenny Moskowitz. The artists vividly render their paintscapes with swashes of high color, from Kindilien’s bright interiors and still lifes to Moskowitz’s brilliant landscapes.

Katie Kindilien has lived in New Haven for almost thirty years, painting landscapes and still lifes along the way. She works primarily in oil and gouache paints and has shown her work at the Arts Council’s Sumner McKnight Crosby Jr. Gallery, The Frame Shop in Westville, The West Shore Art Studios and New Haven’s City Wide Open Studios. She was awarded second prize at the New Haven Paint and Clay Club’s annual juried show in 2006. When she is not outside painting landscapes or in her studio painting still lifes, she teaches art classes to the talented students of Edgewood Magnet School in New Haven, CT.

Lenny Moskowitz is a Connecticut landscape painter who lives in New Haven. He graduated with his B.F.A. from the Philadelphia College of Art and received his M.F.A. from Michigan’s Cranbrook Academy. In recent years, he has held solo shows at both the Willoughby Wallace Memorial Library and the Visions Toward Wellness Gallery in Stony Creek, the Simon Building Lobby in Farmington, and the Kehler Liddell Gallery and the Jewish Community Center in New Haven. He is on faculty at Quinnipiac University and conducts various workshops and classes across Connecticut. Moskowitz enjoys yearly trips to Maine as well as frequent sojourns to the Connecticut woods to paint landscapes.
