The Arts Council of Greater New Haven presents Nature Constructed at Perspectives… The Gallery at Whitney Center. The exhibition is curated by Debbie Hesse, the Arts Council’s director of artistic services and programs. There will be artists’ talks beginning at 2 p.m. followed by a public reception from 3-5 p.m. on Saturday, September 24. The works will be on view to the public on Tuesdays and Thursdays, 4-7 p.m., and Saturdays, 1-4 p.m., September 24, 2016 – January 6, 2017 at the gallery located at Whitney Center, 200 Leeder Hill Drive, South Entrance, Hamden.

According to Hesse, Nature Constructed is a multimedia exhibition that examines the complex intersection between art, nature, and culture. The artists who will be exhibiting work are: Leila Daw, Geoffrey Detrani, Joan Fitzsimmons, Fritz Horstman, Joseph Saccio, and Mark Williams.

Additionally, the Resident Perspectives Gallery at Whitney Center will be showcasing a new exhibit of residents’ art.

On September 24, Whitney Center resident artists Floyd Caplan and Meryl Menon will give artists talks from 2 to 2:30 p.m. Following their talks Nature Constructed artists Fritz Horstman and Leila Daw will give talks from 2:30 to 3 p.m. The reception follows from 3 to 5 p.m.

Perspectives…The Gallery at Whitney Center, a gallery exhibit in partnership with the Arts Council of Greater New Haven and Whitney Center, is located at 200 Leeder Hill Drive, Hamden. The gallery features regional artists in group and thematic shows. Hours are Tuesdays and Thursdays, 4 to 7 p.m., and Saturdays from 1 to 4 p.m.
