THE ARTS COUNCIL NOW ACCEPTING NOMINATIONS FOR 38th ANNUAL ARTS AWARDS
Nominations Accepted Through Sept. 6 for Phenomenal Women Theme

New Haven, Conn.–The Arts Council of Greater New Haven is now accepting Arts Awards nominations! The theme of the 2018 Arts Awards is Phenomenal Woman. This year the Arts Council will mark its 38thannual Arts Awards luncheon on Dec. 7 and will honor those who exemplify the power of women in our creative community. In spite of the ongoing threats, women are rising and the arts can be central to this movement. Who are the creative women that empower our region through arts and culture? What organizations empower women and girls? Where have feminist movements flourished in our creative community?

The Arts Council seeks nominees from all corners of Greater New Haven in any discipline, which might include individuals, organizations, businesses, volunteers, philanthropists, events, and ideas. There is no limit to how many nominations you can submit. In fact, we encourage multiple submissions. An independent committee will select winners based on quality, not quantity, of nominations.

Nominations are accepted now through Thursday, Sept. 6, 5 p.m.

New this year: The Arts Council seeks submissions for an original design and performance to explore the Phenomenal Women theme of the Arts Awards. Artists of all kinds from Greater New Haven are encouraged to submit their concept by July 19, 2018.
